Micro Limit Switch Kit with Mounting Plate
Limit switch assembly and wiring for Version A and B kits.
There are two types of limit switch kits we stock, version A and version B. Please refer to the appropriate manual for your limit switch kit below.
Please note: The holes in the switch will need to be opened a little (3.5mm drill bit) to allow for the M3 screw to pass through the limit switch and screw into the mounting plate.
Version A
Version A has threaded plates with screws coming in from the top of the plate as shown below.
In the kit will be the following:
- 2x M3 x 10mm Button head or Cap head screws
- 1x M5 x 8mm Low profile screw
- 1x M5 drop in Tee Nut
- 1x Micro-Limit Switch
- 1x Limit Switch Plate
Step 1:
We will need to fix the limit switch to the plate. To do this we must fasten the provided M3 screws through the micro limit switch. The holes on the micro limit switch are slightly smaller than the screw so a little bit of force may be required.
Once the base of the screw has made contact with the micro limit switch, please use the threaded holes of the screws to fasten the switch and screw assembly onto the plate as shown below.
Step 2:
Insert the M5 Screw into the slotted grove as shown below.
Step 3:
Fix the drop in tee nut onto the M5 screw.
Complete!
Version B
Version B of the limit switch kits comes with an untapped plate and a 15-5-2 washer. The assembly process is slightly different.
In the kit will be the following:
- 2x M3 x 10mm Button head screws
- 1x M5 x 10mm Low profile screw
- 1x M5 drop in Tee Nut
- 1x Micro-Limit Switch
- 1x Limit Switch Plate
- 1x 15-5-2 Washer
Step 1:
As the plate is untapped, the screws will need to be fastened through the plate and into the micro limit switch compared to the micro limit switch and then into the plate as with V1.
In this case the limit switch will be used to create the thread.
Step 2:
Put the M5 x 10mm low profile screw into the slot and then insert the 15-5-2mm washer between the plate and then lastly the drop in tee nuts.
Complete!
Assembly onto the Machine
The principle of assembling both limit switch kits is the same. Simply insert the limit switch with the drop in tee nut facing horizontally and with an Allen key turn the screw clockwise for the tee nut to lock into place.
Limit switch kits can be placed on any location you wish on the machine. On our machines this is the Front - Left - Bottom configuration. Front of the Y - axis Left of the X - axis Bottom of the Z - axis.
If you have 6 limit switches, you will need to place them on both ends of the same actuator. It is not advised to put limit switches on both Y actuators (for dual Y axis machines) as the controllers do not support auto-squaring of the machine.

Limit Switch Wiring
This configuration is for the “Normally Open” configuration, which is the default configuration. On the limit switch are numbers on one side and lettering on the other side.
Please see the image below for the “Normally Open” configuration. For the “Normally Closed” configuration, please connect the signal wire to pin 2 and the common wire to pin 1. In the kit are spade connectors that require to be crimped. Please use a crimping tool to crimp the cable to the spade connector.
- 1 = Common
- 3 = Normally Open (Middle Pin)
- 2 = Normally Closed
Further information on how to wire the limit switches to your controller can be found here:
